you're my favorite

alright! i was not happy at all with the card i made for one of the sketch challenges over at Lucy's Cards! ha ha! i was like, so close! so anyway, i decided to have another go at it! :) i'm using the same sketch - i just love that sketch! :)

i also created this card for little product spotlight challenge happening at freckled fawn! :) sometimes i feel like i have ordered everything they have! lol! LOVE their washi, papers and embellishments! :)

ok, so here's my card!

i used two washi's from freckled fawn...their under the wood veeners! fun, right?! i was trying to think of a new way to use some washi! the typewrite is a studio calico wood veneer, but the heart wood veneer is from freckled fawn, as is the patterned paper! :)

i layered the wood embellishments on top of each other, and stamped the sentiment from mama elephant's smitten stamp set.

i am much happier with this card! lol! love the colors, the hidden washi and the layers! oh, and of course i had to use my sewing machine again...it's a staple among lucy's cards! :)
enjoy!

you're the one that i want

i have that grease song stuck in my head! lol!
so, over at lucy's cards, she's having some fun little sketch challenges and i decided to participate because i wanted to use my mama elephant stamps and get inky! lol!

so here's her day 2 sketch:

so fun right?! and of course her sample card...amazing, as usual!
i used the on target stamp set and colored in the 'love' part of the target. then i stamped the heart from that set with some pickled raspberry, cut it out, and popped it up for dimesion.

the top and bottom strips were sewn on...and while i love the bold pink color, i sort of feel like it was too busy! oh well! still fun!

so that's it!
enjoy!

a little squeal

today i have a little card to share for the super fun (and intimidating - to me!) challenge, the 10 minute craft dash! whew! i'm used to having much more time! ha ha! but i was able to finish this card in 7  and half minutes! and you'll probably see why...ha!

i used that cute little hamster from paper smooches 'party posse' and the little heart is from 'boob tubes'. he's paper pieced and then popped up. and i also added a little glossy accents to the heart - for pizzazz. i drew the box around the card with a black pen and my stamp block! lol! it's...not exactly square...but i was under pressure! lol!

overall, it's just a tiny little card that can be sent for any number of occassions, so it's great to have on hand! and it was fun to make under a time crunch! :)
enjoy!

the old saying

who let the cat of the bag?
that was sort of the jumping off point for my card today! i saw the latest sketch at CAS(E) this sketch! and instantly thought of it!

i used the sittin' pretty stamp set from the alley ways stamps! i paper pieced the cat and fussy cut the ball of yarn! and i particularly tried to stamp the yarn so that it looked like the cat fell asleep after getting all tangled.

speaking of the cat! it's in a bag! lol! anyone have cats? then you know how much they love to sleep inside of...well anything! but my cat does like to explore paper bags! lol! (he's sort of crazy!) so i cut down a typical bag that i got from whisker graphics to the right size and shape, and then sewed it onto my card! (making sure the little cat was peeking out! :)

i finished off the card with the sentiment stamped right onto the bag, and that's it!
enjoy!

ps - here's a picture of my little cat, he was stalking me while i was taking pictures of this card, and his 'play eyes' were out in full force! (in our house, play eyes = attack mode). and yes, he did try to take me down by attacking my feet! lol!

i love you

oh i had so much fun making this card! it's for the current lawnscaping challenge - make a scene!

i used...just a few...lawn fawn stamp sets! ha ha!
a birdie told me
gnome sweet gnome
plus one
bannerific
and harold's abc's

what do you get when you mix all of those stamps and add a small scene? well here it is:

my mom always tells my little menn that she loves them to the moon and back. i mean, honestly, that's one of the cutest sayings ever, right? so i wanted to make a card that reflected that statement!
so, yay! i love how bright and happy it is! the birds were paper pieced and popped up (along with the moon and one of the hill tops and banners).

i also added some glossy accents to the moon, star and yellow heart. then i used one my very few copics (ha ha - i have 5!) to line the inside of the banners - which i've seen, but never done myself. and i LOVE how it looks!! :)
so that's it! easy to explain, but one of my favorite cards, too! :)
enjoy!

power on

alright! so i'm here to share a card i made today for the latest challenge at paper smooches sparks! this time with their cool shades color challenge:

now a little warning - this is a super simple card! for some reason it was in my head! and i tried to think-think-think of other ways to spruce it up...alas, i could not! :) so here it is:

i used paper smooches stamp sets boob tunes and vegtastic (for the little heart)! that little heart, by the way, is my favorite heart! it's the perfect, size and shape, i just love it! :)

i paper pieced the funky, retro tv and added some glossy accents and a little clear, glitter pearl to the 'buttons'. i LOVE that woodgrain for the tv, i was feelin' the retro vibe! :)
the heart was just stamped and cut out and then popped up for some dimension! :)

see? totally simple! but still fun!
enjoy!

eek! a monster

i ordered this set from my cute stamps ages ago, and i had not gotten them inky...until now! :) i think this stamp set is SO cute, so i don't know what was holding me back, but for some reason the color story at the play date cafe's latest challenge was calling to me to use this set! which is odd...you'll see! here's the inspiration photo:

and here's the stamp set:

not exactly a match made in heaven, but i totally made it work for me! :) ha ha!

ok, anyway, here's my card:

fun, right? well, silly anyway! :)
i paper pieced the little godzilla and fussy cut out the heart and speech bubble. i added some glossy accents to the heart and also to the 'scales' of the monster (which i also colored a little bit to make them slightly darker. :)
he he! i used my white gel pen to color in those monstrous teeth, too! grr! ha! the city scape was stamped with some hero arts shadow ink (soft sand) and i finished it off with the tiny little sentiment (in a way!) at the bottom. :)

i think this is one of those cards you want to give to someone when you want to tell them you love them and you don't care who knows! shout it! ha ha! i don't know why, but i think it's cute and can't wait to send it and make some either smile...or cock their head to the side and think...oh sam. :)

enjoy!

a little bit of future blackmail

i'm so excited for the new/revised challenge over at unity - the unity be inspired challenge! i have a TON of their stamps (mostly the itty bitty's - they're so cute!!)!

this time they have three different ways to play along! sketch challenge for a card, or layout, and a color inspiration!! well...i had to make a layout - i found this picture of my biggest little mann from when he was just learning to use the potty...and well, you'll see. how could i NOT scrap this for future blackmail - i mean memories! ;) he he!

here's the layout sketch:
and he's my layout!!

love it!!!!! that little mann just LOVES hockey. he always has his skates on with his hockey stick at home. he LOVES watching it on TV, too. i really can't re-iterate how much this kid loves hockey. ha ha! i used three itty bitty stamps - change is a good thing, how's it rollin and crappy day. ha ha! i even used one of the sentiments from a KOTM that i have - april 2012 (follow your own).

i flicked some lunch tray mister huey's onto the background of the layout (i liked the tone on tone look!).

then, i paper pieced the undies (which my husband could NOT believe i had an underwear stamp!!) and colored in the skates to match his own skates. :) they were both popped up for dimension, too. i also added some flair i had because...well...ok i know this is a busy layout, but there was so much to add! lol! and i wanted to incorporate all of the little 'highlights' (the potty training, hockey, etc) of the layouts so we could remember what an addict he was, even in just his brand new underwear! :) silly kid!

i finished off with a bunch of thickers for the titles, and washi tape, and vwa-la! future blackmail for my oldest little mann! he he! this makes me happy! and i can't wait to get inky again later today! :)

enjoy!

rawr

i couldn't wait to get started on making a card for the latest CAS(E) this sketch challenge! i had this idea in my head, and it basically turned out exactly like i imagined! what?!

here's the sketch:

and here's my card:

i even got out my sewing machine for this one! i LOVE sewing on my paper crafts, but it's sort of a pain sometimes to lug it out, set it up, sew, clearn it up and put it away! i wish i could leave it set up all the time...but these little menn here have little hands that would LOVE to take my sewing machine for a spin! lol!

anyway, ok. so i used mama elephant stamps - cosmic stars and polar pals! the little lion (leo!) was paper pieced and adhered to those FUN studio calico circles! then i fussy cut a heart out from the polar pals set and then added some sparkly icicle stickles to it. the sentiment is some tiny type from october afternoon.

i LOVE this card! i hope it makes you smile! and if it doesn't at least it's friday! that's enough to smile about! :)
enjoy!

love across the miles

happy valentine's day!
today i have a very 'valentine' card to share! i made it for the current challenge going on over at the pinspired challenge! here's the inspiration photo:

so fun, and sweet, right?! agreed!
so here's my card:

i used the sweet stamp shop's 'across the miles' stamp set. LOVE it. honestly. LOVE.
i heat embossed the 'united states' with white, onto pink grid paper. so fun!!!! then i added some awesome peppermint twine from lawn fawn at the bottom of the card. i used these super awesome cork speech bubbles from pebbles, which i then heat embossed the sentiment onto!

oh!! and i almost forgot - the white paper is dry embossed with a great woodgrain!! who doesn't love white woodgrain! lol!! after adding a sprinkling of enamel dots and wood veneers, the card is complete!

i love it!! and i hope it brings a smile to your face too!
eat something sweet, or at the very least, stamp something sweet today! :)
enjoy!

happy place

the current challenge at runway inspired challenge totally speaks to me! i don't know why...maybe it's the vintage feel, the suitcases, or the colors. i just don't know! but i do know, i was totally inspired to make a card!! here's the inspiration photo:

i used my paper smooches stamps - get outta town and word salad for my card. love me some paper smooches! and here's the card:

i popped up the suitcase (and one of the flowers) for dimension. i colored in the handles of the suitcase with a light brown to keep the vintage feel with the light color of the suitcases. the sentiment was white heat embossed. and i used my white gel pen to add the little dots to the hibiscus flowers. it's hard to tell, but they'r'e actually two different pinks, well...they're almost two different pink colors! lol!

oh, i also added just a touch of glossy accents to the, slightly hidden navy heart. i LOVE that little hidden heart, and the glossy accents totally make it work, in my head, anyway! :)
so that's it! i really had fun with this one, and i just can't get over that inspiration photo for some reason! love it!
enjoy!

a little book worm

i just LOVE this set i used from the sweet stamp shop!!
i made this card for the current challenge over at CAS(E) this sketch! i just love that challenge site! i made this card while i was skype-scrapping with my danielle - we try to do it every saturday and it's the best!
so anyway, here's the sketch:

and here's my card!

i paper pieced everything (naturally! lol). the little worm is popped up for dimension and anchored with some AWESOME wood grain washi that i just love! in my mind, she's sitting on top of a book shelf!

then i added some glossy accents to the glasses and the heart antennas! :) easy peasy! i was going for a real light and bright and fun feeling with this card!

it's monday - so good luck with the week everyone! here, well...both little menn are fighting off the sniffles...so...that's fun! :)
enjoy!

a little polka-crazy!

just a quick post of a sweet little card i made for the current paper smooches sparks trend watch challenge!
did someone say polka dots?! well, ok then, i'm in! :)

here's my card:

there's not much fancy happening, i just think that little bee and the sentiment are SO cute!! i've been wanting to ink them up for a while! and for some reason, nothing screams polka dots to me, quite like bees! lol! :) i used paper smooches stamps bee mine and chilly chums (for the little bow on the bee!) for this card!

anyway, the bee and banner are all popped up. i added some glossy accents to the wings and the heart in the sentiment. which i thought was nice with the super fun glitter tape! lol! the background, the bee, the little heart, and the washi are all polka dot papers! lol! polka-crazy, see? :)

so that's it! it's just a sweet, fun card, and i had to create it because i needed to release some work-related stress! and what's a better way to do that than by crafting, right?! :)

happy friday and enjoy!

my {funny little} valentines

well, today i'm sharing a layout i made for the lawnscaping challenge this week - which is this very valentine-y inspiration photo!

these pictures were actually from last year, but that's ok! i big puffy heart love them! so i knew i had to scrap them eventually! :) i just can't pass up this amount of brotherly love happening! :)

so, i actually used 5 lawn fawn sets, if you can believe it! and though they aren't the 'focus' of the layout, they are definitely important, in my opinion!
i used say cheese too, bee mine, critters ever after, you've got mail and harold's abc's!

the first thing i did was splatter some red mr huey's onto my awesome bright side kraft chevron paper from, lawn fawn. LOVE it. i think i ordered like 7 extra sheets and haven't used any of them - until now! typical crafty hoarder! :)

the sentiment was created with some thickers! the wooden arrow is from freckled fawn and the hearts are from studio calico. i layered up some washi on the side of this layout, too! can't resist using washi! :) and one of my favorite parts of this is the little 'valentines' in the left corner. i just imagine the little love notes making their way through the wind to my little menn! :)

so that's it!
enjoy!

party like a rockstar

i have a quick post today. i made this card on friday morning, but i have been SO SICK since then, i haven't been able to post it.
so here it goes. it's for the latest CAS(E) this sketch challenge:

and here's my card:

i used some awesome new mama elephant stamps! the little girl (actually virgo) is from cosmic stars and the sentiment is from good times - one of my favorite sentiment stamps ever, i think!

the girl is paper peiced and popped up for dimension and the sentiment is white heat embossed.
i used some white enamel on the wood veneer stars and then added some frosted lace stickles for a little something extra.

so that's it!
back to bed for me.
enjoy!
