Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release Day 4 - Ornamental Newton + coordinating Die and Festive Forest + coordinating die

today is the last day for Newton's Nook Designs 2016 Holiday release!

I am not kidding when I tell you that the sets this month are AMAZING!!! I can't wait for everyone to see the whole release!
today the whole team is showing off Ornamental Newton + coordinating Die and Festive Forest + coordinating die!! These sets...I CAN'T EVEN!! the cuteness is off the charts!
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 28th, right here!

i created two cards with the new Newton set, and they're similar but different! :)
the first one is in reds, and i colored my kitty with tiger-like stripes! so fun!!

again, I used Distress Markers to watecolor everything, and then used the coordinating die to cut them out! i added some glitter to the strips on the ornament for a little more festiveness!

on the background i used some embossing paste and my favorite star sentcil and then splattered it with light dots of black ink to match the bold sentiment!

my 2nd card uses the same image, but with greens and soft, beige kitty!

adorable too, right? ha!
i used some grey distress ink and my kraft mat to create the background! i simply scribbled the marker in a line, spritzed with water and pressed my cardstock on top! love the messy rectangle!

i curved the sentiment around that beautiful, big ornament, and love how that looks!

my Festive Forest cards are clean and simple and fun!

i LOVE green and black! i used Distress Markers to color directly onto the sentiment tree and then stamped it onto white cardstock! i did the same thing with the base and star of the tree! i heat embossed in black, the polka dot trees, and i LOVE that pop of black!!

the background of the the card was created with embossing paste and a striped stencil! so subtle, and so pretty!

my last card uses the scribble tree image and it's divine!

i used Twisted Citron, Mowed lawn and Lucky Clover Distress Markers! I colored directly onto the stamp and then pressed it onto the card front! i splattered the front with some black ink and then used two strips of washi on the side!

i used a gold and black washi, because i LOVE the idea of golds, greens and blacks for Christmas!
oh..cough cough...so the 'ornaments' on the tree...they started off as pearls...they're totally flat now though...so TIP people: don't run your cardstock through your die cut machine AFTER you added your pearls! ha ha!!
i totally FORGOT that i had added them, and then when i took the card front out...there they were, all flat and squished! but it's ok! easier to mail! ha!!

The cute continues with the holiday release extravaganza for Newton's Nook Designs!

I am not kidding when I tell you that the sets this month are AMAZING!!! I can't wait for everyone to see the whole release!

you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 28th, right here!

i colored the little bird couple like cardinals for my first card!

i stamped and watercolored the images with Distress Markers! i fussy cut the images out and then placed them on top of a subtle, watercolor area!

i combined Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to get that blue-green color! once it was all dry, i splattered white acrylic paint to mimic snow! i also added some stitching with my sewing machine to the top of the card!

my second card is a little more busy! ha!

yep! LOVE it!
I used that large image and stamped it multiple times in black ink on my card base. on a separate piece of watercolor paper, i stamped and watercolored the images then fussy cut out the larger images!

the smaller images, like the leaves, and little berries, i colored directly on the background! i also added a little sparkle to the ornaments and berries! that image is just soooo sweet! :)

it's Tuesday, and that means it's day 2 of the epic Holiday release extravaganza for Newton's Nook Designs!

I am not kidding when I tell you that the sets this month are AMAZING!!! I can't wait for everyone to see the whole release!
today the whole team is showing off Beautiful Baubles + Coordinating Die and Pines & Holly Die! the ornaments are another set in the quilling series, and jsut as GORGEOUS as the rest! And the Holly Die is SO CUTE!
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 28th, right here!

my first card uses (almost!) traditional Christnas colors!

i really love this set!! the designs in each ornament are so unique and SO easy to color!! i watercolored all of the ornaments for both cards with Distress Markers, and then splattered some acrylic white paint on top!

i die cut the ornaments with the coordinating dies and then heat embossed the sentiment onto some black cardstock! used a bunch of the ornaments with a VERY light grey on the background of the card - LOOOOOOVE how subtle and pretty that looks!

my second card is just uses summer colors! ha!

i looooove pinks, oranges and yellows together! and i LOVE the warmth and glow they bring to this ornament!

i watercolored with Distress Markers onto some scrap packaging, spritzed with water and pressed it onto my card front! once it was dry, i stamped the sentiment in a circle around the area!

my last card features the Holly Die!

i die cut everything from white cardstock and then added color with Distress Inks and water! i love the watercolor look on the die cuts!

my card base is white woodgrain and i LOVE the texture with this die set! i popped up the bow and then added some cream enamel dots! such a sweet and simple, but pretty card! i added some sparkle to the pine cones, i LOVE that it's glittery, but also looks like it could be sugar-y snow!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release Day 1 - Sun Soaked Christmas

hello and happy monday!
today is the start of the HOLIDAY release extravaganza for Newton's Nook Designs!

I am not kidding when I tell you that the sets this month are AMAZING!!! I can't wait for everyone to see the whole release!
today the whole team is showing off the Sun Soaked Christmas stamp set...a personal favorite of mine since I live in South Carolina and it's never cold here! ha!! (last Christmas it was 95 degrees...i remember because we were moving and it was HOTTT!!)
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on October 28th, right here!

my first card uses the adorable palm tree scene!

i watercolored my images with Distress Markers and then, yes! i fussy cut them out! It was actually easier than you might think! The background was created by pressing my Distress Ink pads onto my rectangular acrylic block (Blueprint Sketch, Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo). i spritzed the block with water and then pressed it onto my card front!

i splattered the whole thing with white acrylic paint to give it a 'snowy' feel! love how it came out!!

my second card is just as 'distressy', but not as watercolor-y! ha!

i used lots of layers to create the sandy beach! i die cut pieces from white cardstock, and then blending on Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. the sky was created with Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers. then i splattered water onto the whole thing!

i watercolored, fussy cut, and tucked in the little shells and sandals, and then heat embossed the sentiment! LOVE how this came out! :)

Inky Paws Challenge #37

hi hi hi!
it's time for the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge!
this time it's all about the warm, coziness of plaid!!

i loooove it!
i channeled my inner Laura Bassen and decided to create my own plaid! she makes the most AMAZING plaid backgrounds!! and though i don't have any large or thin stripes of stencils or stamps, i made my own with pieces of computer paper - easy mask!!

i really had SO much fun! i used some of my favorite colors of bright, happy Distress Inks and then sprinkled water and white acrylic paint on top!

the cityscape was watercolored with Distress Markers and includes pieces from Newton Dreams of New York and Newton Dreams of London! the sentiment and Santa sleigh are from Newton's Curious Christmas!

i hope you play along for your chance to win some Newton's Nook too!

Create a Smile Stamps October 2016 Countdown to the Release

hello and happy day!
this is the best week ever!

Create a Smile Stamps is releasing a TON of awesome, unique and versatile stamp sets!!
i created a cute card and a fun layout!

my card used the new With Candles and Glitter stamp set!

i watercolored my images with Distress Markers and then fussy cut them out! i added some glitter to the middles, and only on the outside edges of the candles! the sentiment was heat embossed and then popped up!

i used Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick to create the blended background! i dropped some water on top to add a little texture to the background!

my layout was created with the BEAUTIFUL new Snowflake Whispers stamp set and some gelatos!

i used the Waves of Snowflakes stencil and an aqua gelato to create some snowflake textures, and then i used my Black Soot Distress Crayon and colored RIGHT ON the snowflake stamps and stamped them onto my background! LOVE that look!!

the layout is all about how it snowed ONE TIME, tiny tiny snowflakes that melted as soon as they hit the ground, here in South Carolina! totally a rare and unique event, and totally FUN!

i added lots of layers behind the photos and machine stitched the title! LOVE how this came out!

be sure to check out the Create a Smile Stamps blog for more AMAZING and INSPIRING projects by the Design Team! this is an incredible release!
