epic victory layout!

ha ha!!
this layout guys...it's of a picture of my oldest son during one of his hockey camps last summer. he scored the game winning goal...can you tell!?!? i laugh every.single.time i see this photo!! ha ha ha!

oh, but first, i should mention i was inspired by the Altenew Sketch Challenge!

this is my 2nd entry with this sketch, and this time, my interpretation is a little looser, but it's still the inspiration, no doubt! I used papers and embellishments from the amazing Reflections Scrapbook Kit! can't get enough! i also added some stamping with the My Family and Traveling stamp sets!

awww, love it!
i started by adding some white gesso in a circular motion where i wanted my photos. then i added some watercolor areas with Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed and Festive Berries Distress Inks.

I used lots of the stickers and cardstock pieces, as well as the papers from the kit to layer behind my photos!

i embellished with the AWESOME WOODEN BUTTONS (my FAVES!) oh, and then i felt like the page needed a little more blue (i don't know why...ha!), so i cut out the borders of the arrows from the chipboard sheet, even though the arrows themselves were used on another layout! not sure if i explained that right...ha!
anyway, then i did some stamping INSIDE the chipboard arrows and then stitched on the title!

every month i'm always impatiently waiting to PLAY ALONG!! Ha ha ha!! I hope it brought a smile to your face and brightened your day! :)
enjoy!

touchdown!

hello and good morning!

today i'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog with this fun card, full of football spirit! ha!

ha! so fun, right?
fun little fact here for you: i made this card this past Saturday when the rest of my little Menn were gathered around the tv watching some college football! any guesses as to what the college team of choice is in our house?! ha!

i colored and cut both images from the Touchdown Tails stamp set! then used the smaller images in a light grey color to add some interest to the card! :)
for the sentiment, i used a strip of white cardstock and added color with Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Inks. then i heat embossed the sentiment! :) so fun!

hope this card made you smile! and don't forget to check out the post on the Newton's Nook Designs blog to find out all of the latest and greatest information regarding giveaways, releases and news!

a little trio of awesome

hello and happy weekend!
today i'm just popping in to share a fun layout I created for the latest Altenew Sketch Challenge!

I used papers and embellishments from the amazing Reflections Scrapbook Kit! can't get enough! PLUS it gives me an excuse to flower up some layouts of my little menn! ha! sorry guys!

awww, love it!

I don't usually do yellow and reds together, but I was inspired by the BEAUTIFUL roses from one of the patterned papers! so I fussy cut up a bunch, and then used them as embellishments on my layout!

i used white gesso onto the background of that gorgeous woodgrain paper, and then once it was dry, I added some yellow Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) using the packaging techinique!

I stitched on the title, then embellished with chipboards and wood enamel buttons! LOVE this kit, did I mention that?! I finished it off with some black splatters

and just like that, I have those fun photos of my little Menn and I on Valentine's Day this year! love it! and that littlest guys' face...i can't even!! clearly he's the coolest! ha! :)

fun fact, i don't usually use these colors, (or florals!!) in my scrapbooking! with two little Menn at home, there isn't much occasion! ha! but i LOOOOOOOVE that i can stretch my kit and push myself out of my comfort zone to create pages like this! :D

every month i'm always impatiendly waiting to PLAY ALONG!! Ha ha ha!! I hope it brought a smile to your face and brightened your day! :)

enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Creepy Cameos + coordinating Dies AND Cameo Frame Die

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my card featuring the EXCLUSIVE, and NEW, Newton's Nook Designs and Simon Says Stamp Stamptember collaboration card, scroll down, or click here!**

hello again!
welcome to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs September release!

this month's release is all about fall and halloween!!! It's so fun!!
today the whole team is showing off the Creepy Cameos + coordinating Dies AND Cameo Frame Die!! ! you can totally create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 15th, right here!

I had SO MUCH fun making my cards!
for my first card, I experimented with some foil!

first, i blended Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink onto m white cardstock panel. then I spritzed A LOT of water into one corner of the paper, LOVE that creepy, water-y, ghost-y look!

next, I used my Heidi Swapp Reactive Paint to lightly cover my stamps, then pressed the stamp image onto a piece of white cardstock.
*please note - rinse your stamps RIGHT AWAY after this*
once the images were dry, i placed my foil on top, and then ran it through my laminator! the results aren't perfect, but i LOVE the distressed look, with those creepy images!

so different, and so fun!

my second card uses more Distress Oxide inks!

i smooshed Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves onto a piece of packaging, then spritzed with water and pressed it onto a piece of white cardstock! once it was dry, I added another layer.
while all that drying was going on, I die cut the beautiful frame 4 times and glued it together to add some height.

i die cut the mirror image again out of some foiled cardstock for the inner part of the mirror, then added some white stickles around the outside frame. I stamped the profile image with Distress Oxides of the same colors, then heat embossed the sentiment in silver to match the mirror!
